About Course

Grief is a natural yet deeply personal response to loss and it can affect how we think, feel, behave and even how we relate with others. This course is designed to support individuals in understanding grief, processing loss and building the skills needed to move toward healing.

By the end of this course, you will feel more empowered, more self-aware and better equipped to face difficult emotions with strength and clarity.

 

Course Content

ACKNOWLEDGING GRIEF
In this topic we're going to recognize, accepting, and validating the emotions that come with loss. it is the first and most important step in healing because you cannot process what you refuse to face.

  • write 1-2 paragraphs describing what you lost, how it made you feel emotionally and physically and what helped you cope

  • write a short paragraph describing at least four feelings or emotions of grief that you have experienced and how you coped

EXPLORE FEELINGS
In this topic we're going to go through the 5 stages of grief that a person goes through during grief. NB not everyone experiences all stages or in the same order. some stages may repeat or overlap. By the end of this topic you will be able to understand these stages and it will help normalize emotions and support healthy coping strategies.

EXPRESS EMOTIONS SAFELY
Expressing emotions safely allows individuals to process difficult feelings without harming themselves or others. by the end of this lesson learners will be able to identify safe methods of expressing their emotions.

BUILDING COPING STRATEGIES
Coping strategies are methods and skills that people use to manage stress, emotional challenges, and difficult situations. by the end of this topic, you will be able to identify healthy and effective ways to cope with stress, emotions and challenges. reflect on past coping habits and how to improve them
